Starting at the Masonic Hall on East Beaver Street, each race promises an energizing route through the charming streets of Zelienople.
But the Reindeer Race is more than just a run; it’s a community event with a heartfelt cause. Participants and spectators alike can engage in a special basket auction, featuring an array of goodies. The proceeds from this auction will directly support the family of Aiden Lutz, a beloved 15-year-old from Butler, PA, who tragically lost his life in an accident. This event honors his memory and contributes to a cause close to the community’s heart.

The proceeds from the event will support the family of Aiden Lutz, a 15-year-old who tragically lost his life in a bicycle accident.
In loving memory of Aiden Miles Lutz, a vibrant and caring 15-year-old from Butler, PA, we honor his life cut short on October 20, 2023. Aiden, a dedicated student at Butler Senior High School and a passionate member of the cross country and track teams, was known for his love of Volkswagen cars, bicycles, and camping with his family and Scout Troop 6. He was a source of joy and kindness in his community, touching lives with his loyalty and infectious smile.
Tragically, Aiden’s life was taken in a hit-and-run accident while he was riding his bicycle. His loss deeply affected his family, friends, and the Butler community, who remember him as a bright young man who taught them to love fiercely and find happiness in every moment. As an organ donor, Aiden’s legacy continues through his generous spirit.
In remembrance of Aiden, whose favorite color was yellow, the Reindeer Race will feature a basket auction, with proceeds supporting Aiden’s family. This tribute reflects the community’s love and respect for a remarkable young soul gone too soon.
