Our beginnings
GFF’s early roots included a group of new mothers returning to exercise after having children. That focus on being active together extended to families and young athletes discovering swimming, cycling, and running.
The youth camp started small: six children over two weeks. By 2014, it had grown to 38 participants and ran through much of the summer. Those early camps helped develop a youth triathlon team and created more opportunities for children to train and race.
Our purpose
To help individuals and families discover the athlete within themselves through supportive coaching, shared experiences, and the enjoyment of being active.
People arrive with different experiences and goals. GFF’s approach brings together guidance, opportunities to practice, and encouragement from others. Progress can mean learning a skill, trying a race, or finding an activity you want to keep doing.
What guides our approach
Personal progress
Working toward a goal starts with recognizing where you are. Coaching helps athletes build skills and take their next step.
Encouragement and connection
Training with other people brings companionship, shared effort, and opportunities to support one another.
Room to discover
Athletes do not all connect with the same sports. Swimming, cycling, and running offer different ways to explore strengths and find an activity that fits.
Enjoyment matters
Challenge and enjoyment belong together. Having fun is part of building a relationship with activity that people want to continue.
Creating opportunities
GFF’s history includes scholarships that helped young people participate in training camps and local races. That support reflects the importance of giving more young athletes opportunities to take part.
