A fall running season, not a one-day clinic
Every weekday practice is part of a full Get Fit Families season: running, strength work, teammates, and coaches. Beginners are welcome. Families already in GFF use this as the fall chapter of the year; new families can join for cross country alone.
Who can join
- Get Fit Families youth athletes ages 6–18. Younger athletes need Coach Joella’s approval — send a program question.
- First-year runners and kids who already compete.
- Families who can get to Cranberry Township for practices and follow meet plans in TeamSnap after they register.
What the season includes
- Weekday practices that mix running and strength. Session times are listed on the offering you join.
- Weekend meets that usually fall on Saturdays and/or Sundays beginning in September. Exact meet dates go to registered families in TeamSnap.
- A uniform top has been included with season registration. Confirm what this season includes when you enroll. Meet entry fees are separate.
- The program operates with USA Track & Field. Athletes who plan to race and are not already members should purchase a USATF youth membership separately.

Questions families ask
How do we enroll?
Use Register Now. It opens the 2026 GFF Cross Country Program offering with the Butler County Family YMCA. Send a Program Question if you need help choosing a session.
Can a beginner join?
Yes. Coaches work with first-year runners and with athletes who already race.
Do we need a USA Track & Field membership?
If your athlete will race and is not already a USATF member, they should purchase a youth membership through USA Track & Field. It is separate from season registration. Join USATF.
Can we bring a stroller or a dog to practice?
No. Fall Cross Country practices and meets are athlete training and racing, not a stroller or dog event. Spectators should follow coaches’ instructions at the YMCA and at meets.
Ready to join the fall season?
Use Register Now to enroll. Many GFF athletes continue into Winter Youth Training and race the Halloween Trail Race.
