What do you need to do?

I’m new, or worried about the swim

The swim is in the lake. Kayaks are there so you can rest, float, or hold on. That does not promise every day will feel easy. A shorter race, a relay, or the no-swim duathlon may fit better.

  • A designated transition rack when 12 or more athletes from the club are registered.

The two weekends

Spring · May 22–23, 2027

A cold-water opener

Lake Arthur can be cold in May. A wetsuit is not required, but bring one even if you don’t think you’ll need it. Saturday is the longer Lakeview day plus youth at Pleasant Valley. Sunday is the shorter Lakeview day, including the Novice Sprint Triathlon.

The later weekend

The same kinds of races, later in the summer, including the Novice Sprint Triathlon. Saturday is the longer Lakeview day plus youth at Pleasant Valley. Sunday is the shorter Lakeview day.

Why people come back

Mighty Moraine has been held at Moraine State Park for more than a decade. Finishers can expect a medal, a shirt, and Jenny Lee Swirl Bread. Awards are picked up on race day if you place. They are not mailed.
